MUGABE´S HISTORY OF CORRUPTION

In this article Ken Yamamoto, a researcher on Africa at a Tokyo Institute, questions President Robert Mugabe’s sincerity in dealing with the country’s corruption scourge. Yamamoto cites several historic scandals where little or no action was taken while those implicated were rewarded with top government posts. He suggests that Mugabe cannot be serious about fighting corruption while retaining in his cabinet ministers such as Obert Mpofu and Ignatius Chombo. Yamamoto also cites several dodgy deals involving the First Lady, former RBZ Governor Gideon Gono as well as Gushungo Holdings which is owned by the Mugabes. He suggests that the reason the fight against corruption will not succeed is because the head of this mafia or yakuza-like operation sits in the highest office in the land. Readers are advised that the article is fairly long, but we decided to use it in full because it raises pertinent questions about the problem of corruption in Zimbabwe. NEKO no kubi ni suzu o tsuker

A NEW ZIMBABWE AFTER MUGABE!

Zimbabwe cannot be content with minimums of production today, the crying need is maximums. Out of the supreme tragedy must come a new order and a higher order, and I gladly acclaim it. But madness has not abolished work, has not established the processes of seizure or the rule of physical might. Nor has it provided a governmental panacea for human ills, or the magic touch that makes failure a success. Indeed, it has revealed no new reward for idleness, no substitute for the sweat of a man’s face in the contest for subsistence and acquirement. There is no new appraisal for the supremacy of law. That is a thing surpassing and eternal. Contempt for international law wrought the supreme tragedy, contempt for our national and state laws will rend the glory of the republic, and failure to abide the proven laws of today’s civilization will lead to temporary chaos. Let us stop to consider that tranquility at home is more precious than peace abroad, and that both our good fortune and our

IF YOU WANT TO BE CORRUPT IN ZIMBABWE!!

If you want to be corrupt in Zimbabwe, and get away with it, just mention that whatever you are doing has the blessing of the godfather. So for example, you can just say you are collecting the shakedown for “Dr Amai”, which is a euphemism for - it’s for Mugabe and his wife. Dakota wisdom and riding a dead horse AS THEY say, the tribal wisdom of the Dakota Indians, passed on from generation to generation, says that when you discover that you are riding a dead horse, the best strategy is to dismount. In Zimbabwe however, a whole range of far more advanced strategies are often employed. These include: Buying a stronger whip. Changing riders. Threatening the horse with termination. Appointing a committee to study the horse. Visiting other sites to see how others ride dead horses. Lowering the standards so that dead horses can be included. Re-classifying the dead horse as “living, impaired”. Hiring outside contractors to ride the dead horse. Harnessing sever
